High-Growth Endoscopy Markets Re-Emerging, According to MedMarkets
FOOTHILL RANCH, CA, – Select endoscopy markets are exhibiting high growth rates following their ability to prove their clinical experience, among these urological, gynecological, bariatric and spinal surgeries, according to the October issue of MedMarkets. While the endoscopic alternative to open surgery has been clearly over-marketed in the not too distant past, recent clinical evidence has supported growth in the more routine use of endoscopy in select applications where endo is penetrating established treatments. “The market that is showing one of the highest growth rates in this respect is that of endoscopic spine surgery, due to the highly invasive alternative of open spine surgery, with endoscopy’s growth in the short run exceeding 50% annually,” said Patrick J. Driscoll, publisher of MedMarkets.
Clinicians are readily adopting endoscopy for other procedures such as in bariatric surgery; arthroscopy of the hip, knee, shoulder and spine; prostate resection and treatment of BPH; kidney stone fragmentation/removal; endometrial ablation and hysterectomy; hernia repair and appendectomy; colonic procedures; and the hallmark endo procedure, laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
